“Men in Black” star Will Smith backs higher taxes…until he hears France’s proposed rate! Rob Houglum LLMedia Tuesday, May 15, 2012
Will Smith has been a vocal advocate of Barack Obama and his plan to increase taxes on the welathy, but during a trip to France he was questioned if he would support a 75 percent tax rate precisely what's being proposed by new Socialist President of France.
Business Insider explains, "The Hollywood megastar enthusiastically preached the text of paying one's equal share of taxes in a French television interview this weekend."
"But when questioned about his viewpoint on the tax policy of French president-elect Franois Hollande, Smith's was startled mad by the suggestion of a seventy five % taxation rate on those earning above 1,000,000 annually," reported BI's Alex Biles.
"I have no issue with Will Smith," Glenn announced at the start of the video.
Glenn explained that Smith shares the same opinion as many in Hollywood the rich have to pay more in taxes.
In the interview, Smith responds with a "God Bless America" and a giggle on hearing President-elect Hollande's proposed rate of seventy five %.
"You can see the actual shock of that number," Stu asserted. "( Smith ) isn't a tax expert in European economics. It strikes him as shocking as it should strike you."
